How do I schedule an event at SS. Simon & Jude (baptism, wedding, or funeral etc.) ?


Baptisms Deacon Jim can be contacted at deaconjim@ssjpittsburgh.org or x212 to arrange a Baptism at SS. Simon & Jude. He set up a meeting with you to discuss the time and needs of a Catholic Baptism. Weddings
A wedding date must be set at least six months before the wedding. Please call or email Ashley Dillon, our Parish Office. Our Marriage Prep is run through the Renew the "I Do". Funerals
When a death has occurred you can call the funeral home to make arrangements and they will call the parish office to schedule a Funeral Mass. You are also welcome to call or email the parish office if you would like to speak to Laura O'Keeffe, who facilitates the funerals at SS. Simon & Jude at laura@ssjpittsburgh.org or x204.




How do I obtain a copy of my parish records (Baptismal or Marriage certificate etc.)?


Parish members or non-parishioners who are looking for a record of a sacrament that you or your children received at SSJ may request sacrament records by contacting the parish office.




When can I go to Confession at SSJ?


Tuesdays: 6:00 pm – 6:45 pm 2nd Tuesday of the Month 10:00 am - 12:00 pm Saturdays: 11:30 pm – 12:30 pm Additional times arranged by appointment




How do I join SS. Simon & Jude?


To register at SS. Simon & Jude Catholic Parish, please fill out the section above; it allows you to download and complete the parish registration form. Forms can also be found in the back of the church by the votive candles or in the parish office.




How do I request something to be in the Bulletin or on one of the TVs?


Contact our Evangelization Director, Rory Mitrik via phone at x205 or by email at rory@ssjpittsburgh.org – the deadline for entering is Monday at 12 pm the week of the request. Please send any images separate from Microsoft Word attachments.




How do I have a Mass said for someone?


Mass intentions are available for parish weekday and weekend Masses for the repose of the soul of a deceased loved one or on the occasion of a serious illness. If you would like to have a loved one remembered at a parish Mass, please contact our parish office or stop by to schedule an available mass time.




How do I submit a prayer request?


If you have a special need or concern that you would like our parish to pray for, there are two ways to add your concern to our list of special intentions.You can enter your intention in one of the Prayer Intention books located in the rear of the church or you can click here to go to the Prayers page. We also publish a list in the bulletin each week of all those who are ill and have requested our prayers. If you would like to add your name or the name of a loved one to this list, please contact Laura O'Keeffe at the parish office via phone at x204 or email at laura@ssjpittsburgh.org.




How do I become involved with a committee or ministry?


SSJ has many active ministries and committees who are always looking for new members to join them. In most cases simply contacting the committee chair or ministry leader is all that is necessary. For a list of our ministries and committees along with descriptions and contact info please call our office.




Who can I ask a question about Catholicism, or how do I become a Catholic?


We would love to answer any questions you may have. Call at x209 or email Bethann Petrovich, our RCIA Coordinator and she will be able to help you directly at bethann@ssjpittsburgh.org.




Who should I notify about a hospital admission or a need for Communion or Anointing of the Sick?


We are very concerned and want to be advised when someone is homebound, ill at home, or in the hospital. Please call the parish office to have this person placed on our Communion Call list, or to request a visit or Anointing of the Sick. If it is urgent and after business hours, dial the Emergency LIne which is 412.563.3189 x 6.




How do I contact a priest?


You can call our parish office and schedule an appointment to meet with our pastor or another priest or deacon.
